Stilled Life, 2018-19, porcelain, gold and pewter.

A dead barn swallow, hand built from porcelain, then gilded with gold lies on a hand-built porcelain pillow. This work was inspired by Oscar Wilde’s story The Happy Prince. This work could be seen as an elegy for the Barn Swallow. The Barn Swallow has suffered severe long-term population decline and is a threatened species in Canada.
